Finding a member

You start every Member Preview session by choosing one real person. The page gives you a single free-text search, not a list of everyone, because a real project can carry a million members and no dropdown survives that.

How the search works

Type into the search box and matches appear as you type. The search reads three things the member source declares:

  • Id — paste a known member id to land straight on that person. This is the fast path when you already have someone in mind from a report or a ticket.
  • Name — type a name fragment to see the people who match.
  • Email — search by email address where the project's member source exposes one.

Results come back as a short typeahead list, ranked so the closest matches sit at the top. Pick one and the rest of the page fills in for that member.

Why there is no "all members" list

A dropdown of every member works for a demo and breaks for a real catalog. The video project seeded here carries a million members; the wellness project carries a few dozen. The same search box serves both, because it only ever returns the handful of people who match what you typed. You are never asked to scroll a list that does not scale.

When you already have an id

Working from an Opportunities call, a support ticket, or a spec, you usually arrive with a specific person in mind. Paste their id and you skip searching entirely. That is the intended path for checking a claim about one named member: go straight to them, then read their rails.
